Archaeological Museum of Mykonos

The Archaeological Museum of Mykonos was built in the early 20th century at Kamnaki, in a dominant position above the harbor. The initial purpose of this building was to house the findings of the "Pit of purification" (5th century) which was discovered in 1898 in Rheni. The big collection of vessels is particularly representative of the Cycladic pottery from the Geometric period until the 6th century B.C.

Archaeological Museum of Delos

Delos Museum was built in 1904 and was funded by "the Archaeological Society." The original building consisted of five western rooms. More rooms were built in 1931 and then again in 1972. During the same period the exterior of the building changed a lot because archaeologists wanted to “neutralize” the typically "industrial" elements and make the museum more “distinctive”.

Paraportiani

Paraportiani is a remarkable architectural complex that took its name due to its position next to the small northwest gate (“to paraporti”) of the medieval wall of Mykonos. It is a two-storey complex of five churches; four of them on the ground floor and the fifth one on the first floor. The latter is also the one that is named Paraportiani. It was built between the 16th and the 17th century and it is one of the most important monuments of the Aegean because of the unique characteristics of its structure. Without doubt, it is one of the most photographed sights of Greece.
